Those are just some of the ways I would describe who I am apart from being an actor. And yes... I'm one of THOSE annoyingly proud Texans who LOVES bbq, grew up watching football, says y'all without flinching and will rep her home state until the day she dies!
I grew up the oldest of 3 girls in Houston, TX (where my immediate family still resides). It was here that I cultivated a love for storytelling. Many kids grow up playing pretend, or orchestrating scenes and scenarios for their Barbies. But not every child has been caught... on multiple occasions... by friends and family... reciting commercials for household products and produce when she thought no one was looking. I was THAT kid who spent the majority of a playdate setting up THE WORLD in which the toys would exist and the rules they had to live by. This is where the stage was set!
I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where I received my degree and furthered my passion for the arts by being an active member of the local theatre and film community. While Houston remains home to the loving family to which I was born - Austin is home to the family I built! I called this place home for a long time (and it is still my favorite city).
After years of working in the corporate sector, and honestly ignoring ALL the signs that it wasn't where I was meant to be, I finally got the message that I wanted pursue acting full-time and move to where the opportunities would be most prominent! I made the decision to move to L.A.!! And, it only took me getting laid off THREE times over a 6 year period!
I've been in L.A. for SEVEN YEARS which I can hardly believe, when I think about it, but it's honestly been just the right amount of time for me to finally call this place HOME.
When I'm not on set or on stage I'm likely in the kitchen cooking, dancing, exploring my newfound love of yoga or out and about with my camera adding to my photography portfolio.
I LOVE animals, but unfortunately have no pets at the moment so... you might catch me hitching a ride with my pet-endowed friends to a dog park for some puppy cuddles! Shout out to my amazing friends, both here and in Texas! I've been blessed to be continually surrounded by GOOD PEOPLE and I honestly, I thank God every day to have people in my life (family and friends) who keep me grounded, sane and humbled and inspired and accountable. And those are the kind of people you want to walk down this road alongside.
FUN FACT: I recently became an AUNT and I'm OBSESSED with my new niece!
RANDOM FACT: I play the same instrument as Rainn Wilson!
